- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪We went into the clinic for a sore foot. Without our knowledge, we were charged $222.00 for being a "new patient" and that wasn't covered by BCBS of Alabama. After less than 5 minutes with the doctor and no XRays, the dr. recommended a boot. We then received an additional bill amount of $457.00 for the 5 minutes with the doctor. Total bill amount was $711.00 none of which was covered by "Blue Cross of Alabama". They were given our insurance information prior to seeing the doctor so they obviously were aware that the visit wasn't going to be covered by our insurance and didn't disclose that information to us. Make sure you are aware of their fees and your insurance eligibility before you go. Additionally, they contacted our primary doctor after the visit and attempted to get them to submit an "after the fact" referral so that they could charge these outrageous fees to the insurance company without success.
